Weight Calculation

Chargeable weight is calculated based on actual weight or volumetric weight, whichever is higher.

Volumetric Weight Formula: Length × Breadth × Height in centimeters divided by 5000.

If the shipment is bigger in size but lighter in actual weight, volumetric weight will be applied.

Any fraction above 100 grams will be rounded to the next kilogram.

Claim Policy

Customers must refer to SM Claim Settlement Policy for compensation against damage, loss, or acceptable service failure cases.

  • All claims must be submitted within 15 days from the date of booking.
  • Claim settlement is subject to terms mentioned on the consignment note.
  • Claim form must include proper supporting documents and approvals.
  • Invoice value declared at booking will be considered for claim settlement.
  • Management will take the final decision to accept or reject the claim.
  • No claim will be accepted for delay caused by natural calamities or uncontrollable events.

Risk Policy

The conditions of carriage printed on the consignment note are binding on the customer.

For uninsured consignments, maximum liability shall be the invoice value or Rs. 1,000, whichever is lower.

For non-document consignments, risk surcharge may be charged as per company policy.

The company will not be responsible for delays caused by accidents, strikes, natural calamities, airline delays, railway delays, or events beyond control.
